For 14 months, Otherwise worked with Copyco Solutions, a leading provider of print and communication services, to complete a comprehensive repositioning initiative, enabling the company to re-emerge as SHIFT – a provider of communication supply chain solutions. Our work began with a groundbreaking business/brand strategy that lead to the new name, visual identity, website, social media program and collateral. We continue to lead the evolution of SHIFT’s social media presence by building community around communication supply chain practices and methodologies.

The new website and blog for Chicago’s Society of Contemporary Art go live.
Since its founding in 1940, the Society for Contemporary Art (SCA) has followed a clear and precise path: to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the art of our time at the Art Institute of Chicago. Through its annual series of lectures and events, the Society has become one of the museum's principle vehicles for exploring new and challenging art, offering its members access to a roster of national and international artists, historians, dealers, and curators in Chicago and major art centers both here and abroad. In celebrating its 70th anniversary the SCA selected Otherwise to translate its vision into a new website and social media platform.
The site we created is both beautiful and simple; robust yet easy to navigate. It provides information about the SCA’s broad program of events and lectures, along with online registration and ecommerce.

To help reflect the new brand created when Prudential Preferred Properties and Rubloff merged in late 2009, the company turned to Otherwise to develop a sweeping new creative campaign. We built the campaign upon a fresh, new positioning of ONE MAGNIFICENT LIFE, and created a comprehensive print advertising program with a set of brand assets—color, design templates, messaging and imagery—that Prudential Rubloff has continued to use in-house to create a broad range of marketing materials.

It isn’t unusual for architects to focus on clients and neglect their own marketing assets, and this has certainly been the case with Hartshorne Plunkard Architects, an award winning, full service architecture, interior and planning design firm located in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. To rectify the situation, HPA turned to Otherwise to design a new website that showcases the exemplary work, while providing the HPA team with the tools they need to continue to manage the site’s content.

On the NW corner of Michigan Avenue and Erie, you’ll see the early signs of construction on the new Ritz-Carlton Residences—88 magnificent homes—in a stunning high rise designed by Chicago's own Lucien Lagrange that preserves the elegance of the landmark Farwell Building that has stood on the corner since the 1920s. The founders of Tierra Madre California, a family-owned and family-operated olive oil company, brought Otherwise on board to develop their Tierra Madre brand. Working with longstanding environmentalists with a steadfast commitment to organic foods, Otherwise designed the logo and sustainable packaging for the company’s line of organic olive oils.

Under the ownership of NAJR Properties, the stunning 33-story Kilbourn Tower is undergoing a dramatic transformation, with help from Otherwise. The new logo, website, marketing kit, sales center and advertising will reflect the building’s elegance and commitment to providing "an elevated state of living."

Otherwise leverages not-for-profit and technology experience to develop endowment support website.
In late 2008, the Francis W. Parker School, a distinguished K-12 independent school in Chicago, began a project to fund their endowment by allowing students, parents and alumni to sponsor seats in their new auditorium. They turned to Otherwise to design and build the website that allows site visitors to select their seat, write the dedication, and make their payment. When the sponsorship site, www.supportfwp.org, initially went live, it also allowed visitors to purchase tickets to an endowment fund benefit concert starring Sheryl Crow that was held March 7th in the school’s new auditorium.
